This evening of music at an iconic venue is a benefit for the Rex Foundation and features Dark Star Orchestra performing the Grateful Dead's 7/13/84 Greek Theatre show on its 40th anniversary! The celebration will commence with special guests Melvin Seals and JGB.

The Rex Foundation was created by "members of the Grateful Dead and Friends" and has a mission “to help secure a healthy environment, promote individuality in the arts, provide support to critical and necessary social services, assist others less fortunate than ourselves, protect the rights of indigenous people and ensure their cultural survival, build a stronger community, and educate children and adults everywhere.”

Jeff Mattson and DSO will headline the Hoxeyville Spring Music Festival, taking place from May 31 to June 2 in Wellston, MI. This new musical event also will feature The Allman Betts Band, The Infamous Stringdusters, Leftover Salmon, Yonder Mountain String Band and others! 

The Hoxeyville Farm is a picturesque 200-acre property in the heart of Michigan's Manistee National Forest. This new event is focused on music, camping, and immersion in the Northwoods. It will offer canoe trips Saturday and Sunday, music and ecology workshops, and plenty of food and craft vendors. Music on the Timber Stage will run from 5:00pm to midnight on Friday and Saturday, and 4:00-11:00pm on Sunday.

Jeff Mattson, Lisa Mackey, and JGBG will join Pittsburgh jam band theCAUSE at the annual DJAM, a Grateful Dead tribute show benefitting Just Harvest, on March 30th. Just Harvest is a nonprofit organization that reduces hunger through sustainable, long-term approaches to help those in need. This year's DJam takes place on Saturday, March 30 at Thunderbird Music Hall, 4053 Butler Street in Pittsburgh, PA.

On this unforgettable night, the Grateful Dead broke out “Dark Star” for the first time in 3 years. During “Dark Star” and to the amazement of the audience, a brilliant shooting star streaked across the summer sky!
